Harry overtook Adebayor in 1-1 draw

Tottenham Hotspur star, Harry Kane on
Saturday overtook former Spurs and Gunners striker, Emmanuel Adebayor to set a new premier League North London derby goal record following his side’s 1-1 draw with Arsenal.
A goal from Aaron Ramsey and a strike from Harry Kane gave both teams one point each at Wembley.
According to Opta Joe, Harry Kane’s goal against Arsenal means the England captain is now the outright leading scorer with 9 goals in Premier League North London derbies, overtaking Adebayor, who has 8 goals.
Speaking after the match, Kane told the BBC Sport: “It was another good derby, a
passionate one, it had a bit of everything.
“In the first-half we were disappointed; we created a few chances but were not clinical enough. ‘The second-half was just about fighting for the team and club and we did that and we got the goal we deserved.
Towards the end of the game it went a bit crazy.”
“For us it was important to stop the losing streak,” Kane added. “At this point it might give us a little boost with a big game in the champions League and then Southampton.
“Over the last week we have put ourselves under pressure but we have done it in the pa

2019: APC express dismay over polls outcome in kogi west

by James Azania, Lokoja
— March 2, 2019

The leadership of the All Progressives
Congress (APC) in the Kogi West senatorial district has alleged the state chapter of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of
rigging last Saturday’s presidential and
National Assembly election in the area.
The party after a review of the exercise, in which the PDP and a fringe political party won the Senate and House of Representative seats, across the Kogi West Senatorial district, vowed to rectify what it described as an anomaly.
The APC won in the other two senatorial
districts; Kogi East and Kogi Central
The review document released on Saturday in lokoja, the state capital, and signed by the alhaji Isah Taufiq, Chairman, Association of
Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Kogi state chapter, expressed their “agony” over the poll outcome.
“We note with dismay, the uninspiring
performance from the senatorial polls results from Kogi West. We however promise to brace up and take a firm decision to correct the anomalies of the past in the next coming State Assembly election.
“We discovered that was massive rigging by PDP in our area. We must demonstrate the agony and frustration we bear over leadership failures in Kogi West. We therefore tender
unreserved apology to the governor, Alhaji yahaya Bello over the last presidential and National Assembly Elections.
“We are meeting to restrategize on making sure we come victorious in the upcoming elections. We also apologize to our colleague from the other senatorial districts particularly
the Chief of Staff, Hon. Edward Onoja for the unfounded allegations against his person.
“On a final note, having tendered apology to all concerned, we call on all APC members in the
state, all stakeholders and all political
appointees, to desist from passing blames and
abuses across board against each other.

Kepa is my number one Chelsea goalkeeper____Sarri

The world-record signing was dropped for the
Blues’ victory over Tottenham following his
refusal to be substituted in the Carabao Cup
final
Maurizio Sarri insisted Kepa Arrizabalaga
remains his number one after dropping the
goalkeeper for Chelsea’s victory over
Tottenham on Wednesday.
Sarri drafted Willy Caballero into his starting
XI after Kepa refused to be substituted in the
closing stages of Chelsea’s Carabao Cup final
defeat to Manchester City .
Kepa was handed a fine by the club ,
although he and Sarri initially explained away
the incident as a misunderstanding .

Sarri said he was trying to send a message
to his squad by dropping Kepa that Chelsea
are a team and not a collection of
individuals.
While standing by his decision to call on
Caballero, who did not face a single shot on
target but dealt confidently with any balls
into his box, Sarri says Kepa will not be out
of the side for long.
Asked whether Kepa was still his number
one, the Italian told a news conference: “Of
course.
“I think it was the right decision [to drop
him]. Kepa made a big mistake. He paid [a
fine] with the club and then he paid [with his
position] with the team.
“Now I think we have to stop. Kepa will be
from tomorrow with us.
“I don’t know in the next match if he will be
on the pitch or not. But in the next one or
two, of course.
“We cannot kill him. When you are young you

can make mistakes.
“[But] you need to understand very well after
every mistake. For me the question is
closed.”
Chelsea are next in action on Sunday when
they travel to Craven Cottage to take on
west London rivals Fulham.
